These models can be configured for steel pipe piles and sheet piles using suitable OMS hydraulic clamps and compatible OMS hydraulic power packs.
How Does the OMS SVR NF Series Work?
A crane-suspended vibro hammer generates vertical oscillation through rotating eccentric masses inside the vibration housing. The resulting centrifugal force is transferred from the vibro hammer to the pile through the hydraulic clamp.
This vibratory action reduces the resistance between the pile surface and the surrounding soil. During driving, the crane applies the required vertical positioning while the vibro hammer helps the pile penetrate the ground
During extraction, vibration works together with the pulling capacity of the hammer and crane to reduce soil resistance around the embedded pile.
The effectiveness of this process depends on several connected parameters:
For this reason, model selection should never depend on centrifugal force alone. The vibro hammer, power pack, clamp, crane and pile must be evaluated as one operating system.

Main Components of an SVR NF Piling System

OMS SVR NF vibro hammer system with hydraulic power pack and pile clamp
SVR NF Crane-Suspended Vibro Hammer
The vibro hammer generates the vibratory force required for pile driving and extraction. The SVR NF range provides different capacities for varying pile dimensions, soil conditions and project scales.
High eccentric moment and vibration amplitude make the series suitable for operations where substantial energy must be transferred into steel pipe piles or sheet piles.
OMS Hydraulic Power Pack
SVR NF vibro hammers operate with matched OMS hydraulic power packs. The power pack supplies the hydraulic flow and power required by the vibration system and auxiliary clamp circuit.
OMS power units incorporate control systems that allow operating parameters and system status to be monitored. Depending on the configuration, operation can be managed through the touchscreen panel or wired and wireless remote-control options.
The recommended power pack depends on the selected SVR NF model:
| SVR NF model | Recommended OMS power pack |
| SVR 25 NF | PP 320 |
| SVR 30 NF | PP 380 |
| SVR 50 NF | PP 536 |
| SVR 80 NF | PP 768 |
| SVR 82 NF | PP 768 |
| SVR 120 NF | PP 1072 |
| SVR 200 NF | PP 1536 |
Important: These are catalogue pairings. Final configuration must also account for hose arrangement, project conditions and any application-specific auxiliary requirements.
Hydraulic Clamps for Pipe Piles
OMS KCN Series hydraulic clamps are designed for tube and casing applications.
Depending on the pipe diameter and SVR NF model, double or multiple clamp configurations may be used. The catalogue pairings for the specified range are:
| SVR NF model | Recommended Clamps for Casing |
| SVR 25 NF | KCN 60 × 2 |
| SVR 30 NF | KCN 60 × 2 |
| SVR 50 NF | KCN 90 × 2 |
| SVR 80 NF | KCN 185 × 2 |
| SVR 82 NF | KCN 185 × 2 |
| SVR 120 NF | KCN 185 × 2 |
| SVR 200 NF | KCN 185 × 4 |
Pipe diameter, wall thickness, lifting method and clamp beam design must be verified before confirming the configuration.
Hydraulic Clamps for Sheet Piles
OMS SCN Series hydraulic clamps provide the connection between the vibro hammer and the sheet pile. The fixed and movable jaw arrangement applies hydraulic clamping force to the pile, allowing vibration and extraction force to be transmitted through the clamped section.
The standard catalogue pairings include:
| SVR NF model | Recommended Clamps for Sheet Piles |
| SVR 25 NF | SCN 120 |
| SVR 30 NF | SCN 120 |
| SVR 50 NF | SCN 165 |
| SVR 80 NF | SCN 350 |
| SVR 82 NF | SCN 200 |
| SVR 120 NF | SCN 350 |
| SVR 200 NF | Application-specific evaluation required |
The complete clamp range can be reviewed on the OMS hydraulic clamps page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The system can be configured for pipe piles with KCN clamps and for sheet piles with SCN clamps. The correct configuration depends on pile dimensions and the selected vibro hammer model.
No. SVR NF models are normal-frequency vibro hammers. Projects requiring resonance-free starting and stopping should be evaluated using the OMS SVR VM variable-moment range.
Selection depends on pile type, pile weight, dimensions, soil conditions, driving depth, extraction requirements, clamp configuration, crane capacity and hydraulic power requirements.
Yes, provided the hammer, clamp, crane and power pack are correctly selected for both operating conditions.
The clamp transfers vibration and pulling force from the hammer to the pile. Incorrect clamp selection or poor jaw engagement can reduce performance and create operational risk.
OMS Vibro Engineering Value
The OMS SVR NF Series provides a broad range of crane-suspended normal-frequency vibro hammers for steel pipe-pile and sheet-pile driving and extraction. Effective performance depends on selecting the hammer together with the correct hydraulic clamp, power pack and crane configuration.
For project-specific selection, send the pile dimensions, pile weight, soil information, target depth, crane data and required driving or extraction method to the OMS Vibro technical team.
