Stone Column Equipment for Top Feed System
In the top feed vibroflotation method, the OMS vibroflotation probe is positioned at the location where the stone column is required and vibrated into the ground to the desired depth using a water jet. At this stage, a cavity is created around the probe, which is then filled with gravel of a specified size depending on ground conditions.
As the probe is withdrawn, the gravel in the cavity displaces the surrounding soil, forming a stone column and compacting the ground. The compaction process is monitored via the control system on the hydraulic power unit.
